IF-CSA turns Earth observation into field-level answers – on climate resilience, carbon, hazards and site selection – ready to plug into your workflows.
The ESA Information Factory for Climate Smart Agriculture (IF-CSA) is a platform commissioned by ESA that links satellite data, climate information and soil data with modern analysis tools – bridging the “Last Kilometre” between space data and agricultural practice.
At its core is a comprehensive EO data repository built on the CloudFerro infrastructure, accessible through open, standardised interfaces. The system supports four use cases: Climate Resilient Farming, Carbon Farming, Hazards and Climate-Adaptive Seed Production.
Developed by a five-partner consortium – Geocledian (project lead), Urbetho CF, CloudFerro, Sustainable AG and Spatialise.
Sounds interesting? Explore how IF-CSA works in practice – through four real-world use cases.
More about the project →Concrete solution modules for food companies, system integrators, advisory organizations, insurances and financial instutions.
Know how every field performs – verify practices without farm visits.
Quantify soil carbon at scale – credible, standards-ready MRV.
Use the platform as a Food Company, System Integrator, Insurance or Financial Institution. Contribute your expertise and technical solutions as a Value Adder. Enrich the platform with your data.
Field-level climate intelligence for your daily decisions.
Integrate standardised EO services via one API – under one roof.
Built on CloudFerro’s scalable OpenStack environment, the IF-CSA platform provides the secure foundation for your data and services.
For those with valuable data: Host and share them with full control over access, licensing and pricing.
For those building applications: Deploy and run your services via standardised APIs (STAC, openEO) – without managing the underlying hardware.
